For when you need things held just right
Welding the metal legs has been a challenge. The welding itself has been fine, except for controlling the heat. When there is too much heat, the metal warps. Maybe not all of the warping can be prevented at this point, but if I can minimize it to the point it isn’t noticed. Heavy objects are nice for holding things in place. Here a front end loader to a tractor was used to hold the metal in position to be tacked. The more tacks the better. Even though a bunch were added, it wasn’t enough to prevent all of the warping. We can’t spend too much of our life dwelling on mistakes, we just need to deal with them. This isn’t so bad.
Late night delivery. 2" thick. Not real huge, but real heavy.
These Black Walnut slabs were dropped off at the house. It was a huge amount of work to get them off of the trailer and into the shop. Each slab is 2” thick and 16’ long. They need moved again once a better storage spot is decided. There are no plans for the wood yet. It needs to sit for quite a while before it can get used. That leaves a lot of time to learn Fusion 360..
